The Story Behind adeus: How We’re Making Wills and Legacy Planning Simple, Secure and Human

October 20, 2025

At adeus, we believe protecting the people you love shouldn’t feel complicated or intimidating. It should feel reassuring, a way to give peace of mind to those who matter most.

In this interview, our co-founder Mark Hedley shares the personal story behind adeus. After decades building teams and products for global organisations, he and co-founder Nick Adams decided it was time to create something that truly made a difference. A deeply personal family experience for one of the co-founders opened his eyes to just how outdated and confusing wills and legacy planning can be, often leaving loved ones with stress, uncertainty and unanswered questions at an already difficult time.

Mark talks about why trust and simplicity are at the heart of everything we do, and how adeus is using secure technology to solve real-world problems; from preventing lost or disputed wills to making sure loved ones can find everything they need when it matters most.

He also shares his hope for the future: that wills become more than a legal formality. They should be a living expression of love and care, a simple, evolving plan that gives the people you leave behind clarity, confidence and comfort.
