Everyone Knows They Should Get Organised. Very Few Know What Finished Looks Like.

Ask most people what getting their affairs in order means and they will say writing a will. Some will add keeping a few important documents somewhere safe. Both matter enormously. Neither is the whole job.

A will is a single legal document. It decides who gets what. It does not tell your family where your accounts are, who to call first, what your wishes were, or what happens to the parts of your life that now exist only online. A vault is a place to store things. It does not tell you what you are still missing.

So people do the first bit, feel a moment of relief, and are then left wondering whether that was it. Usually it was not.

What Usually Goes Wrong

In our experience there are three patterns, and almost everyone falls into one of them:

1. The plan stalls after the will. The hardest task gets done, the momentum disappears, and the other pieces are never started. The family is left with a legally valid document and very little practical help.
2. The plan exists, but nowhere in one piece. Documents in a drawer, account credentials saved in a browser, key details in a spreadsheet, wishes in someone's head. Each part is fine on its own. Together they are not findable by anyone but you.

My Legacy Plan is a new section on your adeus dashboard. It replaces guesswork with a single, personalised view of where your plan stands right now.

At the centre is a progress circle showing how far along you are. Below it, your plan is laid out as a set of cards, sorted into what you have completed and what is still to do. Each card is one concrete action, not a vague ambition.

What counts towards your plan

Your progress reflects the steps that genuinely make a plan work:

• Creating your adeus account
• Adding your key contacts
• Creating your will
• Adding your signed will to True Wills
• Writing your letter of wishes
• Storing your important account details
• Uploading your important documents
• Protecting your digital legacy by recording your online and social media accounts
• Creating a True Note or a True Gift

Progress moves in clear steps as you complete each one, so you always know what a given action is worth before you start it. Nothing is hidden, and nothing depends on how long you have been a customer.

The three stages of a plan

As your plan grows, it moves through three named stages:

• Foundations in Place. You have started. The essentials are going in.
• Building on Your Foundations. The core of your plan is there and you are filling in the picture.
• Your Life, Organised. Everything of substance is recorded, current and ready to pass on.

Do I Need a Will to Use My Legacy Plan?

No. You do not need a will, and you do not need a paid subscription.

The first steps sit on the free Basic Vault. You can create an account, add the people you trust, and start gathering your important documents at no cost. You will see your plan and your progress from the moment you sign in.

If you already have a will written elsewhere, that counts too. Adding your signed will to True Wills creates a tamper proof record of it, and moves your plan forward.

And when you are ready to write or update a will, adeus guides you through it step by step, with no legal knowledge needed. Most people complete theirs in around twenty minutes.

Why This Matters More Than a Checklist
